Christmas Tree Festival at Cudham Church

Our Christmas Tree Festivals have been enjoyed by many people both exhibitors and visitors alike over recent years, and we have received many favourable and appreciative comments.

We give special thanks to all the local residents, clubs, businesses and church members and pupils of Cudham Primary School who have entered trees or displays - their creativity is amazing.  Our grateful thanks also go to those who help set up our Festivals, help with stewarding or in any other way to enable these Festivals to take place.

We also hold a united Christingle Service on the first Sunday of the Festival and we support the work of The Children's Society a national charity helping vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people.

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL 2019 at Cudham Church

Our Festival was again a resounding success with more displays exhibited than in 2018 (30+)!  On the opening day The Friends of Cudham Church hosted a fantastic concert in the evening with music provided by the Biggin Hill Concert Band, plus solo renditions by Philip on the oboe and Ian on the church organ.  All who came thoroughly enjoyed an evening of superb entertainment.

Thank you to everyone who visited the Festival to see the trees and arrangements in our beautiful 11th century church and for the encouraging and appreciative comments we received.

We would like to thank all those who entered displays – the Christmas outside pallet trees, Cudham Primary School trees (60+),  Knit and Natter Group, Knitted Nativity Scene (kindly lent by Downe’s W.I),  The Friends of Cudham Church,  Lodge Kennels and Cattery, RSPB tree, Cudham Toddler Club, Music tree, Handcrafted tree and decorations in wood,  the Christmas Prayer tree, Tree of Faith and Hope, the miniature tree, Christmas tree in ribbon work, The Bible Study Group harbour boats display, Cudham and Downe Bellringers, Wildwood Barn Theatre, Downe, The Friends of St Mary’s, Downe, Stephen Jota Children’s Centre, Deer Country arrangement, Skylarks Vets, Westerham Sea Cadets, Garden trees, Cudham Diamond Club, Cudham Cattery, Ready Steady Grow pre-school, Cudham Church Sunday Club, Twelve days of Christmas, and the Cudham Flower Club.

Their creativity was inspirational and the church looked wonderful, especially when candlelit. Photographs of trees and displays will be added to this webpage in the New Year.

Our 2018 Festival was again a success, well supported with more participants than in 2017!  Some of the displays are shown in the following photographs - courtesy and © of Enid Avery.

Our third Festival held from Friday 24th November to Sunday 3rd December 2017 was just as exciting with some brilliant displays on show and visitor numbers were up from 2016.  Our local Cudham Primary School entered over 60 trees! which were all fantastic and can be seen in the photographs, along with other creative displays from local residents, businesses and church members.
