Downe Village Advent Windows a real advent calendar took place again during December this year with different properties hosting an advent window, revealing the story of Christmas each day. A trail map and details were posted on our churches facebook page.
Christmas lights switched on in Downe Village - Sunday 5th December
Adult focused 'space to breathe' on Friday 17th December there was a time set apart to reflect, have fun and create adult quality crafts in the lead up to Christmas at Cudham Church. All materials were provided, including coffee and a mince pie on arrival, and packed lunch, all in the suggested £5 charge.
Knitted angels a symbol of love and joy, knitted by local people, could be found around the villages of Cudham and Downe by walkers. From Advent Sunday onwards anyone finding an angel was invited to take one home with them.
Memory trees - people were invited to tie a ribbon, bauble or leave a message on the Christmas trees outside Cudham Church and St Mary's, Downe during December, in memory of a loved one.
Advent Trail - a trail to follow was outside Cudham Church from 17th December onwards.
Chocolate Advent Calendar - people were invited to join in via facebook to count down the days to Christmas with Rev Rach and Rev John. Advent calendars were opened from 1st December onwards.
